Project 383 Stroker - Completed

Project 383 Stroker will be the result of many engine upgrades to my black 1985 Corvette.

This is where Project 383 Stroker Begins:

The disassembly of the current L98 350 motor.

Removal of the air box, alternator and engine pulleys.

New exhaust manifold studs.

The removal of the intake runners.

The removal of the intake manifold and rocker arms.

Positioning the engine hoist.

Securely fastening the engine hoist to the L89 350 motor.

Removal of the motor from the engine bay.

The motor on the engine stand after removal from the car.

The cylinder heads are ready for rebuilding with new racing springs and retainers.

The 350 engine block is ready to be take to the Machine Shop.
While the engine block and cylinder heads are at the Machine Shop, the cleaning begins.

The front suspension and control arms after a polishing.

The exhaust manifolds and heat shields.

The factory oil pan after a makeover.

The oil cooler and torque converter cover after a polishing.

The discontinued OEM valve covers and Intake Runners.

The engine bay after detailing.

The new Genuine OEM GM Factory parts.

The Genuine GM Oil Pressure Sending Unit and Fan Cooling sending Unit.

The new camshaft from Comp Cams.

The new ProForm Starter, new PowerTrain Flexplate and new 6.75" PowerForce Harmonic Damper.

The new BBK [blue] adjustable fuel pressure regulator and pressure gauge.

The new correct NTN LU6203 Idler Pulley bearing installed by HD press.

The cylinder heads returned from the machine shop with Comp Cam racing parts.

The 383 "Stroker" block is back from the Machine Shop !

The 383 with the oil pan, oil cooler and engine mounts installed.

The cylinder head being installed to the block in sequence to exact torque specifications.

The Comp Cam push rods and rocker arms being installed.

Aligning the 383 stroker motor for installation into the engine bay.

The 383 stroker motor in the car !

Installing the Tune Port Injection system intake manifold.

The installation of the exhaust manifolds, pleneum, alternator, PS and pulleys.

The completely assembled motor !

The initial cam and engine break in went perfect ! With the 383 Stroker's substantial
increase in Torque and Horsepower, the engine requires some fine tuning with respect
to a much needed increase in fuel.

This completes my Project 383 Stroker. In addition to alot of time and effort, this project
was only made possible by the many that helped, advised and supported me as well as my
late father Ken who is watching carefully from up above.
