I believe that is correct.

To embed the actual image use the [IMG] tag pair.

Although you would want to resize them before using the [IMG] tags. People get testy when they have to scroll sideways in a thread.

I have been reading the FAQ explanation about the [IMG]XXXX[IMG] procedure to the point of putting the pic into my Album in my Profile in the hopes of obtaining the string of characters to insert.

That lengthy string of letters, numbers and punctuation seems a bit cumbersome. It seems there should be an easier, more direct approach.

I will look into using Photobucket next.

Maybe this is the answer?

Well it does not display in preview but I will submit it and see what happens.

The entire format is below

Replace the * with a [

Have to do it that way or you will get the image and not see the tags.

*IMG]http://forums.corvetteforum.com/attachments/testing/47633306-test-pictures-are-too-small-bbhoodup1.jpeg*/IMG]

Replace the two * with [ and you should get this:

You can get the URL of the picture by right clicking on it and choosing "Copy image location" or something similar depending on your browser. The image has to be hosted on a web site somewhere. Most people use PhotoBucket.

I created my own web site just for Corvette related photos. Corvette Pics

Thank you for the help-

The format string displays in a box below the pic in my Album in my Profile page. I just copied and pasted it into the reply.

Does this mean that I have to put pics into my Album before adding them to a post or is this info/description part of any pic.

I think I know the answer to this but...

For the Forum to display it, it has to be in the Forum's Server or linked via URL.

Again, thanks- Fred

If I would have read your reply completely I would have seen that you answered this- DUH.
