What you posted was HTML, which is disabled on CF and many other, large, forum communities due to the security risk HTML can impose.
Instead, you'll need to use BB Code to embed images.
For example, based on your example:
[img]http://i42.tinypic.com/1yq2jt.jpg[/img]
Will do:
Basically, you need a set of [img][/img] tags around the URL/Address of the picture to embed it inside a post.
