11.50/10.50/Quick 8
Anger Management Racing Pro 11.50 Index is a HEADS-UP class that will be run in addition to our Corvette Challenge bracket races. The class will be run on a .500 Pro Tree and the race will be heads-up with the index, 11.50, being a hard index. A hard index means that no driver is allowed to run quicker than 11.50. Running under the index means you lose except in a double-breakout situation where the car that runs under the least advances.
The class is a 16 car field. The 16 quickest Corvettes entered in the Pro 11.50 class will compete using a sportsman ladder where the top half qualifiers race the bottom-half qualifiers. The pairings will be as follows: number 1 races number 9, 2 v. 10, 3 v. 11 and so on. The sportsman ladder helps to ensure competitive racing in every pairing in every round. Rules are minimal and are listed below in detail. The Pro 11.50 is open to all Corvette power combinations including naturally aspirated, supercharged, single turbo, twin turbo, nitrous and any combination of them. Basically, if you get your combination to run in the 11.50's, you have a chance to get into the show.
New for 2010, we will run a full 11 date schedule with the first race being a full payout, non-points warm-up race followed by 10 points dates. Also if the number 1 qualifier wins the event, they will be awarded with a 5 point bonus. Lastly points drivers will no longer be penalized if they run under the index.
The first and most important rule for Anger Management Racing Pro 11.50 is that the car must be NHRA legal for the elapsed time (ET) it is capable of. You are responsible for meeting all of the requirements. This includes the fire jacket requirement for cars with power adders that did not come from the factory. If there is any question on meeting the safety requirements contact Raceway Park tech director, Paul Bailey at Raceway Park or review the latest NHRA rule book or visit www.nhra.com. There are NO exceptions to the safety rules. The car must be legal for the Raceway Park Saturday racing rules.
Qualifying
Qualifying can be the most exciting adrenaline pumping part of this series. Only 16 racers get in the field. Drivers will be directed to a specific Pro 11.50 qualifying lane from which qualifying passes are made. The driver closest to 11.50 will be the number 1 qualifier. The next driver with the ET closest to 11.50 will be the number 2 and so on. If a driver runs a qualifying pass under 11.5, they will be put on the bottom of the ladder and risk not qualifying. We will do our best to tell you where you stand at the end of each qualifying round. The "bump spot", or the time of the 16th qualified driver, will be posted on the boards during qualifications once more than 16 cars have made qualifying passes. We will two official qualifying runs.

2010 Pro 8 Shootout 9.50 Index
The American Racing Headers Pro 8 Shootout presented by Cartek Performance Engineering heads-up racing returns for 2010 with some new and exciting changes. The Pro 8 Shootout is now a 9.50 heads-up hard index class. Performance of the Corvettes is limited to a 9.50 elapsed time. Normally aspirated and power adder turbo/supercharger/nitrous cars are all eligible to race as are multiple power adder cars. The class is run with a .400 Pro-Tree using a Pro ladder. Drivers must qualify to get into the 8-car field. The series consists of 11 races dates with the first date being a "Warm-up", full payout, non-points race. The remaining 10 races will be points races for drivers who choose to participate in the points chase. Points registration is not required so you can bring your Corvette on any Pro 8 Shootout 9.50 Index race without having to worry about points signup unless you wish to compete for the Championship. Winner and runner-up at each race will get cash and trophies and the number 1 qualifier will receive a plaque. Winner and runner-up group photos will appear in Raceway News and www.corvettechallenge.info along with full race coverage.
Your Corvette must be legal to run the ET you are capable of. If there is any question on the legality of your car, check with Paul Bailey at Raceway Park or NHRA at www.nhra.com. There are NO exceptions to this rule. The car must be legal for the Corvette Challenge.
Qualifying
Drivers will be directed to a specific Pro 8 Shootout 9.50 Index qualifying lane from which qualifying passes are made. We will do our best to tell you where you stand at the end of each qualifying session. The "bump spot" will be posted on the boards during qualifications if there are more than 8 cars attempting to qualify. There will be two qualifying runs at each race. If you miss a call to the lanes, you miss your qualifier. If your qualifying pass is under the index, the run will move to the bottom of the ladder. If both qualifying passes are under 9.50 your closest to 9.50 will be used to place you on the ladder but will be after all other cars that have run over 9.50. This means if 9 cars attempt to qualify and your best pass is 9.49, you will not qualify as you will be the ninth car for a field of eight.
