Default Trouble adding link to another thread?

Help!

I know it's a personal problem, but when I copy a thread URL and add to a reply with the tool, I get the entire URL text. How do you copy and just display the thread title?

Thanks!

Ron

I followed your procedure - same as I have tried before. I must have some display issues or browser setting issue. I can't seem the get the underlined link.

Display problem is with FireFox. I need to check FireFox settings.

Edit: Never mind. It looks like you're making progress.

Sometimes when you click on something it doesn't go directly to the item. Sometimes a script runs on the page which then generates a temporary link just for your click and then displays it.

The next time you click on it a new temporary link is created. So, you can't figure out exactly where an item is on the web.

What is and where are you getting it?....

All seems OK after I SUBMIT the post. Before submitting it shows as

[URL]http:\\kjhal;shjfdahf[URL].

Apparently this is converted to the underscored link when submitted.

I did not want to SUBMIT because it didn't look right.

Boy - do I miss DOS and Fortran some days!

The link I pasted was in the TESTING forum.

Thanks for your help!

FORTRAN?! I missed that and I'm older than dirt. just barely though. I had to troubleshoot a Fortran problem one time back in the 70s. The only thing I can remember is that it seemed like an awful lot of typing for one command. I was an assembly language programmer at the time.

I started with Fortran in college during the early 70's. Then a lot of Pascal, dBASE, ladder logic, and scripting. I'm just another old guy!
