However, complete freedom of speech on a board like this does little good for anyone. It just slips into anarchy. The moderators here work hard to make this an enjoyable place to come and share our love for Vettes with others. Also, I am unaware of any "good" members who have been banned

I really don't care who sells them or who runs them on their cars. I hope I'm giving guys food for thought. And I do really get sick and tired of this 'ram air' and 'cold air' crap. But that's another thread right?

Shawn is a straight-shooting guy, and I would be very shocked if he couldn't have fixed your situation after you received an item you didn't want.

I also saw where you were advertising for another vendor.

"Found the Best price anywhere at 21 Century Exhaust in Boynton Beach, FL $717.00 W/O tax."

I'm sure you had the best intentions, but I can see how some members of this forum would just view you as slamming vendors. Again, I'm very pleased with LAPD, and I'd recommend them to anyone.
So did my friend that recommended me to LAPD. I think our greatest asset is communication amongst our members. I just wanted to let the Members know. As far as the other vendor, 21 Century was awesome and the lowest price that I could find in the Country.

I do think Shawn was very nice and knowledgable but really that's part of his job. I do not think that if I were in his place, I would have gotten mixed up with defending the posts. Truthfully LAPD did not notify me of the manufacturer delay. I had to call several times to get the info...check back later, check back tomorrow kind of thing.

Mike seeing that you are local (Boynton Beach) come out to the drag strip with us on July 2nd for the Corvette Challenge. Also you have a very good local tuner/parts shop that does not charge the Corvette Tax. Pm me if you want more info.

Although I believe that everyone is entitled to their own opinions and I feel for anyone who has had a difficult time with any vendor, I can state without reservation that I believe Shawn and the crew at The LAPD are without a doubt the most professional vendors I've ever dealt with. I've purchased quite a few products, from exhaust systems to very small items, from The LAPD and EVERY SINGLE TIME the products have been as advertised (or better!) and they have arrived on time at a very resonable price. I've recommended The LAPD to many friends who own Corvettes and all of them have had nothing but good experiences with Shawn and his crew. I will continue to do so!!!

OK...I've added my 2 cents!!!

First off, FLL-Mike, you’re new here, so you may not had a chance to review the rules/guidelines you agreed to follow when you registered on the Forum.

The Forum believes the supporting vendors and their customers should play fair and by the same rules. When we determine there is a pattern of unfair behavior from vendors or Forum members, we remove them from the site.

Check out this link for details on how to handle unresolved disputes:

http://forums.corvetteforum.com/show...1&forum_id=109

Basically, it says members are welcome to post the facts of an unresolved dispute with a vendor or another member after they have made a reasonable effort to resolve the dispute offline. It appears this thread may have been premature.

The rules also prohibit the bashing of the vendor or the customer or anybody else in the thread. Also see Forum rules on personal attacks:

http://forums.corvetteforum.com/show...2&forum_id=109

Some posts in this thread were in conflict with each of the above-referenced threads and have been deleted. (You know who you were.) Sometimes folks see this as a free speech/censorship issue. If you are one of those folks, see this link:

http://forums.corvetteforum.com/show...4&forum_id=109

God bless America. While we celebrate the rights we enjoy under the Bill of Rights, those rights are not absolute. The Forum is not a public utility, but is a private enterprise where members agree to accept and abide by the owner’s rules and guidelines in exchange for participation. The rules aren’t particularly onerous. They basically require fairness and civility in dealing with others. That shouldn't be as hard as it seems to be on some days and in some threads.

We understand that some folks cannot be bound by rules. When we find out that is the case, we ban them from participation on the Forum so they won’t be burdened by the rules here. The Internet is a big place and they are welcome to go most anywhere they like, but some like to come back to the Forum again and again and again and … We eventually tire of those tactics and impose an IP Address block.

If you have questions, suggestions or criticism of the Forum, its rules or the enforcement of the rules, you are welcome to let a moderator know via PM or e-mail. But please don’t try to force a debate on the Forum, its rules and its moderation by posting the complaints in an open thread. We have a rule for that, too:
