Default ACS guards

I just bought a set of ACS front guards. Opened the box and started reading the instructions. When it got to the part that said " if you have side skirts you will need to grind the rockers to make the guards fit"

NOT HAPPENING !! Just ordered Apsis guards. More money but you don't have to take a Dremel grinder to your $100,000.00 car!!!

I think you will be very happy with the Apsis guards (I have had them on 3 cars now for some 27,000 miles, and have had wonderful success-----no damage from road debris at all (yet---keeping fingers crossed). I do like the way Jersey knows his products and can tell you which guards to get depending upon whether you have skirts or not, etc.

Curious, did you get his new guards, or the old reliable ones he has had for years now. Curious to see how people feel the new ones look when actually on the car-----they look pretty good in the pictures. And of course, the cost of the new ones causes pause...............

Really?? Their whole selling point is that they go lower and protect the fronts of your side skirts. That's ridiculous. I was really considering the ACS guards just because they go lower then the others and they come in carbon flash. They're very pricey as well. This would be a total dealbreaker for me and pretty much anyone else I would guess.....

You grind the front inside edge of the skirt not the car's quarter panel. The splash guard goes in front of the little cutout and a little below the skirt.
FYI: what you grind is to the inside edge of the skirt. Even without the splash guard you wouldn't see it. I did it little by little on only what was needed. I kept test fitting the splash guard. I didn't like grinding my year old ACS skirt but it came out great.....

I just can't bring myself to start grinding anything on a 100k car. I'll just spend the extra money on the apsis guards.

I just received the ACS splash guards and then saw this thread. Opened the box and reviewed the instrustions...no way am I grinding anything on the car to install a crumby plastic splash guard. Just sent ACS an email requesting an RMA.

Did something change? I have ACS "Z06 Enhanced Front Wheel Mudflaps Set" on my car (Z06/07 stage 3 aero) and definitely did not have to do any grinding! Just remove a few screws, put the new one in place and replace the screws.

ACS replied to my email and said the design changed a few months ago and no trimming is required now.

Just to clarify,

The trimming is only for our early production rockers, pre-2015. At the time, we had enhanced the surface under the car...

Our new rockers have since been modified accordingly, hence no trimming required on new production rockers, and OEM rockers for that matter.

So direct bolt on with no mods.

THATS BS according to the instructions in the box! I purchased these guards from you a week ago!

My skirts are factory stage two, YOUR ENCLOSED INSTRUCTIONS SAID I NEEDED TO GRIND MY SKIRTS OR ROCKERS.

The words modified, Dremel and course file are in my instructions.

APSIS GUARDS INSTALLED no cutting or grinding and less then 30 minutes and they come notched if you order for a car with skirts.

So maybe you should update your instructions included in the box? Just a thought...

At the time the mudflaps were released, all our rockers needed a small trim.

Since then we have updated our rocker design, we will get the instruction changed to "if applicable"

Rest assured all new rockers, and OEM rockers do not need any mod or trimming.

That would have been nice to know that THE ENCLOSED INSTRUCTIONS ARE WRONG!

After reading your apparent wrong instructions I ordered APSIS guards and installed them this morning.

I WOULD LIKE A REFUND.

I CALLED ACS AND GOT VM. I LEFT MY NUMBER BUT NO RETURN CALL.

Instructions have recently been updated, just a question of time before pipeline of new parts make it through the system.

If anyone needs updated instructions we can always email them to you.
