Sent a message to a member about brake calipers and got a text message from a number I thought was him. Turns out he was just a scammer. Sent him $300 and now won’t answer my calls or text. Not sure how he got my number to text me but said he would take my offer. Only sent half of payment until I received the parts. These people are absolutely shitty in my opinion.

If you will report the scammer's user ID to moderators, we can ban him and send warnings to everybody he contacted. Report suspicious solicitations by clicking on the triangle outlined in red on each PM or post.
I received this in my private message and there is a common area code although the phone number sent to me is different but there is a common area code of "414-" Folks be careful and don't fall for the okey-doke scam from people wanting to take things offline.
Same thing just happened to me. Someone named “slowtree” tried to sell someone a cargo liner that I have posted for sale.
User Mefly2 reported this scammer and he was banned by moderators. Quickest way to alert moderators of a suspected scammer is to use the report post or PM button (triangle outlined in red on each post/PM.

I just got bamboozled by n2flyingg @ gamail.com I'm out 180 and no brakets for my car.
That email address has not been used to register at CorvetteForum. I note the logs show you were sent a warning about a scammer (Brianx) who contacted you. Do you know the user ID of the person who scammed you or did they take the transaction offline so you couldn't identify their user ID?
It seems unlikely that Usazr1 scammed you. He has been active on the site for more than 20 years and has a track record of successful transactions. More than likely, the scammer saw you express interest in UsaZr1s sales thread and then contact you offline hoping you wouldn't notice that it wasn't UsaZr1 you were dealing with.
I understand that that's why I proceeded with my purchase. I was busy at work i didn't put 2 an2 together that it was a different person. i just wanted to let people know i got scammed by someone. I blame myself for being to nieve... I take full responsibility and just didn't want anyone to get f#@ked by this person n2flyingg@gmail.com
