Default Warning - Product Failure From Corvette America

A couple months ago, I posted about the 'eye-brows' I purchased from Willcox (on-sold from Corvette America). Purchased 4 years ago to go on my '64 restoration project. Opened the boxes and the glue had given up and the vinyl had separated from the base. Had to fix that with some helpful instruction from Ernie at Willcox on how to repair.

Opened the box for the new headliner and disappointed to see that the vinyl had almost come off the base. WTF? Contacted Ernie at Willcox with the problem. He pushed Corvette America and got a fair result for both of us. Thanks again Ernie.

The problem is and the reason for this post is the ‘glued’ products from Corvette America. I don’t know what the issue is but it’s disappointing and costly. It may not be an issue if you live in the USA but us Aussies have to pay through the nose anyway and don’t need 2nd rate products.

The question about storage is a good one. But these products should be able to withstand temperature and storage issues if they are designed for cars. Are they only designed for cars stored in climate controlled garages. My self while I hate it for anyone bit especially someone facing overseas challenges I appreciate the heads up. Helps me decide where I'll spend my money.

It has nothing to do with storage - this CA headliner failed the first day out in the Florida sun and heat after I installed it....

Of course I stored it on it's edge. I live in Victoria Australia - our climate here would be similar to Oregon. I've been told now that Corvette America has changed their glues.

Bud.
