Default Caution on Smiths Classic Car Clocks

Just a cautionary note of my dealing with Jim Smith at Smiths Classic Car **** for repair.

Sent a clock for repair, running, but fast. He stated he could supply a clock for less cost than repair mine.

The clock he supplied which supposedly was bench tested, didn't run, had a broken part inside. My original clock now would not run at all.

He agree to replace with another clock. Did not receive it after 2 months, no response to emails and texts. Started PayPal dispute. Heard from Jim within 6 hours, agreed to send clock. It arrived 3 weeks later. Ran fast, after adjusting very little for 2 months, it quit.

Jim's response it that he had too much time invested in my clocks so he is exercising his right to deny his warranty.

Not a very good track record. Be careful.
