Default Don't deal with Meathammer

Just an FYI for people who try to buy parts from people who have a total of 14 posts to their name...… DON'T DO IT!!

I Made an offer to buy a clear top from "Meathammer" in Arizona... He accepted my offer in a text message. Less than an 24 hours from when I was having someone pick it up, he tells me sold it on me. So much for being a man of your word MEATHEAD! This is another example of why you don't deal with someone who has 14 posts...

No biggie, I will find one when the time is right.... just sad that people cant keep their word!

2 words for you Meathead... Karma Bitch

Let me get this straight somebody else bought it before you did? When it’s clear it was still listed for sale.... Did you put money down on it to hold it? Or pay for it? The forum rules are the seller can sell to whomever they feel comfortable with as there is no I’m in line process.

Sounds kind like sour grapes too me.... words of wisdom from almost a 10K poster. I just checked this post that is marked sold and at least he saved you the trip. GC

If it’s “no biggy,” then why are you posting? That’s unfortunate, but no money was exchanged and no real effort on your part was wasted. I’m not defending the person, as I probably wouldn’t be happy either, but there are better ways to vent than publicly bashing someone on a forum... IMO.

Edit: Two sides to a story as expected (below)...

1. You did not get the roof the first day I contacted you. You told me to hold it for multiple days with zero money down.

2. You put zero money down and was gonna have your “friend pick it up” 3 days later.

3. You low balled me.

4. In a couple words you are delusional. Think that about sums it all up.

I completely agree... the OP paid nothing.....strung the seller along apparently according to the seller and now he wants to rant about it. GC

1. You did not get the roof the first day I contacted you. You told me to hold it for multiple days with zero money down.
Told you I was going to have my friend bring you the money on the day YOU AGREED !! YOU SAID THAT IS FINE!!! That was the ONLY day YOU said you would be available all day!!

2. You put zero money down and was gonna have your “friend pick it up” 3 days later.
You did NOT ask for any money down! YOU were good with the arrangement!! But knowing how you do business I probably would have lost my DP and you still sold the top!

3. You low balled me.
NO! I offered you $100 MORE than one JUST sold for in Cali that also included a cover! Thought that was a fair price... And I guess you did as well..... YOU ACCEPTED IT!! YOUR EXACT WORDS! I ACCEPT YOUR OFFER! And then tell me how great the top is and I was going to love it!!

4. In a couple words you are delusional. Think that about sums it all up.
At least when I give my word on something I will keep it!

1. I also said I was available the first day we talked to meet up but you were the one that decided Thursday worked best for your friend.

2. I’m not the one lowballing a seller trying to buy a roof. I never said I would once hold it for you. Didn’t know I had to specify that if I get a better offer before you can meet up I’d take it even with my for sale post still obviously up . ESPECIALLY since you put zero money down. That is basic common sense which apparently you lack.

3. Yeah you offered me $400 under my asking price based off some roof that apparently sold on Craigslist. Cool story. Tell me again how that’s not low balling? Ohh you need common sense for that which again you lack.

4. The only word your good for is promising to bash me on the forums for your bogus view on how you think the world works.

Good day to you sir

I don't see how the post count of someone plays a role in their integrity.

The bottom line is both potential buyer and seller should be celebrating they didn’t execute a transaction between themselves....

Lol yea maybe! but it's not about the top as Darryl and others think. I'm pretty sure it's not the only one for sale in the world. And pretty sure another one will come along. Darryl is probably the one that bought lol.

My sour grapes as it was put, is about humanity.... It was was about was just doing the RiGHT thing!! Having some priclples and some ethics! You accept an offer, you agree to the terms when and where it will be picked up..... then you break your word. What about saying .........Hey, I already gave my word to someone else and they are supposed to be here tomorrow to get it.... I tell ya what, if they don't show I will call you back and you can have it.....

It's totally my bad....... I guess I expected better from the Corvette family and people in general.

Take care Im out!

Based on the texts, the seller agreed to zero down payment, selling at the price offered and the timeframe for pickup to conclude the deal, then apparently got a better offer and broke his word. Got more money, but his word means zilch. Agree with the buyer...

Honestly I’ve been bailed on 3 times from people telling me they were going to pick it up but to never show. When the deal came along with this guy he was gonna have some random friend pick it up for him which made the whole deal seem sketchy. So when a higher offer came in with money down of course I jumped on it.
