Today, I received my order from RPI. They had a sale around New Years, so I ordered a Stage2 splitter, winglets and Z06 carbon flash painted fender badges. I've been a customer of theirs since 2014, and will say, ever since Don's departure, I hadn't ordered anything custom painted or made by RPI. Don was my go to on my Camaros, his customer service was second to none. I still shopped with RPI prior to this order, but only at their Carlisle tent, buying ready made parts. My only criticism with my current experience, please RPI, try to improve customer service, via email and telephone.
As for the parts I received today, I'll start with the packaging. Elaborately packaged splitter, cardboard with screwed in wood to properly incase the splitter. Quality of the splitter? Looks like a $1000 piece with a perfectly finished paint job. No dirt trapped in th clear, no orange peel, certainly exceeded all my expectations. The Z06 emblems were painted nicely, neatly wrapped and tucked/taped with the splitter. Someone took time and great care.
With or without the sale, the splitter is an incredible bargain, now that I have it in my hands. It's fiberglass, made in OH, not cheap Chinese plastic for honestly not that much of a price difference to the end consumer. Most of us here would much rather support jobs in OH than some Chinese sweat shop. Keep up the great work on your inhouse products, just please improve on the customer service front.
Ditto: RPI customer service is the worst. Never will I do business with them again. Been waiting weeks for shipping information reply.
Multiple emails sent them are unanswered.
In all fairness, and I can only speak for myself, they promised me order to ship 6 weeks, and they were maybe a few days off on that. However, you are correct about communication lacking. Also, to be fair, once a couple emails of mine went unanswered, I reached out to Chris here and he did get me an answer.
I didn’t post this to bash them. In fact, you can clearly see from my post that their in-house products/paintwork were far better than I expected. I just hope that their communication with clients improves. I do order stuff throughout the year, and don’t want to only purchase from them at their Carlisle tent.
