I sincerely hope none of you ever make the mistake I made and order anything, ever, from Ecklers.
Not to go into detail, but let's just say I most certainly will never be buying anything from this sad outfit ever again.
Consider yourself informed! Or warned, whichever word you prefer.
Best regards to all.
Surprised to hear that, I have sampled 4 different vendors since getting my C3 in August. Ecklers has been by far the best at delivering fast. Most of the other vendors I have tried seem to sell product they don't have in stock and then sit on your money for 4-6 weeks.
I had a bad experience about 2 months ago myself. However, they've always been good to me otherwise. I think the pandemic just has them stretched pretty far.
This was the first time I'd ever tried Ecklers.
Waited 2 weeks for my order to arrive. The box it came in had hardly any tape, was crushed, there was zero packing material inside, the smaller inner box was pierced and smashed up, the item in it was dented up, damaged and missing 5 pieces out of what was supposed to be a kit. I called and had to wait 2 hours to speak with someone, twice.
After 6 days, they did provide a return shipping label, and 12 days after that I got a refund. So I'll give them credit for that, they refunded my money.
I'll be trying again with another vendor in the spring, and the brakes I was going to repair over a month ago will now have to wait until spring, which is an annoyance.
Corvette Central, for example, isn't perfect by any stretch, but in my experience they've handled things like this much more efficiently. It really seemed like Ecklers could not have cared less. Since they're unquestionably not the only game in town, the decision is easy: Never again.
there is a place on this forum for vendor reviews. perhaps you may wish to post there. I've been a C3 owner for over 30 years. I've purchased parts from a number of vendors over the years. including of course Ecklers. I personally never had a problem, other than poor quality of one part once. However, I have over the years heard a few complaints about there customer service.
lately I use Zip, Wilcox and Summit Racing the most. but I live overseas. cost of shipping is often the main decider, more than part cost. and all 3 of these let you know on there site if parts are in stock.
I use Ecklers regularly. I am close to them however and I pick my parts up at their facility. Never a problem with them doing this.
Also the local business (The Vette Doctor) uses them and he seems very pleased with them.
However I understand your frustration.
Thanks, I appreciate it.
It was as though they received my item as a return from the other side of the world, and without even opening and checking the tattered box to see the item's condition and to make sure everything was there that was supposed to be there, they just slapped a label on it and redirected it to me. No exaggeration. It was basically unusable junk inside that box. I have photos but won't bother posting, I think the point's been made. Worst experience I've had with any vendor, and I've been at this for about 20 years, having restored a '69 Impala SS, fixing up a survivor '79 L82 Vette, many new items for my '65 Coupe survivor and my '71 LS5 Vette total frame-off.
I have ordered from Ecklers several times with no issues. Sorry to hear you had a bad experience. For what it's worth Ecklers entire line of products was recently acquired by a large National company that could probably care less. Seems like a trend lately.
One complaint that comes up in this forum regarding Eckler's is the shipping charges. Either refusal to reimburse for a damaged or missing item, and excessive charges as compared to other vendors.
Recently did my 1st order with Ecklers for a steel fender. Main reason was $$$ for shipping. They wanted $24 vs over $100 everywhere else. They also offered 2 qualities. ~ $90 for the Taiwanese, and $150 for the "Unspecified" other. I ordered the "Unspecified" expecting a better quality.
The fender showed up in a UPS trailer packed with the thin cardboard "skin" you see on any item in a warehouse. Refused the delivery because of 3 different sites with severe damage on it. Guess that's why the shipping was SO cheap. I also noted that the quality of the stamping/welding was inferior to what a quality piece usually exhibits ???
True, the fender shipped from a vendor, not Ecklers. I called about the situation, and was told a credit would be issued to my CC, will see when I call the CC to adjust my payment to them. IMHO, … I think the Fender Vendor was pulling a fast-one regarding the "Quality" issue.
So far, … no complaint about Ecklers (yet) other than wasted time on completion of my project.

Steve, Ecklers has been my go to supplier for Chevelle parts for several years. They are like Walmart for collector car parts, and their products quality reflect this.
. All metal parts I have received for them have been stamped from Taiwan. I would pay more for quality products made in the United States, if I could find them.
Actually Ecklers has NOT refunded the charge despite assuring me over 10 days ago that they would. I called my credit card service line yesterday, and they have no record of them issuing a refund. Of course I disputed the charge.
Yes, it was damaged by the shipper. However I've contacted a few other suppliers, and they ALL stated that they ship sheet metal parts in reinforced boxes just for this reason, not the cardboard skin that the manufacturer applies. I guess that's why the shipping was so low, as they say, "You get what you pay for".
