Default Beware!

Yep, I got taken, to the tune of $900 by that piece of **** thief "Cody Stackhouse" (various user names), phone number: (316) 883-6970, with a Zelle account under the number: (316) 883-5155.
I wanted to get that transparent top at such a reasonable cost so bad, all my internal alarms were ignored.

Don't make the same mistake I did.

I wanted to jump on that deal too, but after texting with him, many more alarms were raised on his responses which validated my original uneasiness. If someone who is a brand new member suggests anything fishy or post anything extremely undervalued (shipping on that top would have been 200-300 alone) then best to deal locally or leave it alone.

Sorry to hear that. I know it's hindsight... Never use anything but standard PayPal transactions. Even that isn't a guarantee, but the cash apps are just like handing over cash. If a seller only does cash apps, then I ask them to send the product first.

I saw that ad pop up and thought it was a bit fishy. That price seemed a bit too good; prices on these tops seem to be increasing.

Apologies that you got hit by a lowlife scammer. $900. Ouch.

Can’t stand scumbags like that. I believe in karma and he will reap what he sows.

If you used your credit card I'm pretty sure they would be able to stop payment or offer some sort of consumer protection.

Unfortunately, he pushed to use Zelle or cash app which goes through your bank, typically.

Any way to get him kicked off this site and banned/flagged for no posts on the site period?

I dont suppose you can file a scam/ fraud claim with bank or credit card company can you?

Have you tried this?
Report a Scam | Zelle (zellepay.com)

Default Scam

I also got scammed by him of $950 for the Corsa exhaust. Sent him via zelle- my mistake, I know. I was too trusting since I've never had issues with any seller here. I've opened a case through zelle but, most likely will not be getting my money back. What a piece of ****

Wasn’t there another thread about this ? I posted a picture and I knew it was a scam. I asked him to send me a picture of the roof with today’s date and he sent over some bs photoshop picture. Sorry you guys lost money on this deal. Sometimes a deal 2 good to be true should throw some red lights. Hopefully you’ll get your money back.

They monitor his ISP and soon after he gets on with a new username, he's off, but sometimes not before damage is done. Me for example.

Did that, but they pretty much admit they can't do anything other than register it, and if he uses the same number or account, they MIGHT be able to intercept.

Ya know, I was in the Navy for almost 21 years, spent 13 of those on sea duty, various ships. The ONE thing that wasn't tolerated, by ANYONE in a berthing or workcenter, was a thief. Many felt the wrath of the blanket party onboard, and even the chiefs/officers usually looked the other way. Theft was almost the WORST sin you could do on a ship, because everyone had to trust that the person next to them would have their back. A thief wouldn't.

I tried shaming him (Cody Stackhouse is the name "he" used), calling him every despicable name about being a thief that I could, I'm sure they just blocked my number.

Gawd, what a piece of ****. If I'm EVER in a room with him and I find out, there will be very little to recognize afterward. Promise.

I was prior Navy too and, unfortunately, you just have to know these people exist. Nothing will rectify their ways. If you beat them (probably won’t happen) they will go right back to it.

the only way to get them to stop affecting you is to establish a zone that prevents them from getting to you. Trust the network and if they use BS tactics to push you over the line, walk away.

People get scammed EVERY DAY, it’s a reality. It’s unfortunate that all we can really do is prevent it from happening to ourselves and those we know … but that’s where we are.

I encourage you to let it go, and honestly hope he spent the money on feeding his kids a wholesome meal. Who knows?? May not be far from the truth. Maybe I’m an optimist who has an altruistic view of the world.

People do stupid things. Sometimes it ends up in a downward spiral … sometimes it is because of their situation. I’ll pray for them and hope in a true way they find an honest way to act in this world in the future.

obviously, if they get caught, I am not against prosecution … but I like to see both sides of the coin. People (generally) don’t want to cause hate and discontent, they are just trying to make it in this world. Many don’t know how….

cheers
