Default Zip Corvette, not a positive first experience

I placed my first order with Zip for a $8.99 center console button. They charged $8.99 USPS Priority (specifically states USPS Priority on order email) shipping plus tax so its about $20 for this button. Got the email it has been shipped USPS first class. So coming from VA to CA it will take a week instead of 2 days.

Not sure how an email of the order would say one thing and then ship another without also changing the price. If you give me your order number I can tell you for sure what happened. As far as any shipping costing a $1, I wish that was the case. We are not making money off of shipping, if anything by the time all is said and done we lose some money and it is just the cost of doing business. USPS also just raised their rates.

The button came in a 3x5 bubble envelope and was under 1 oz.
I did receive the package on Friday. Button worked fine, but still not a great experience on my first order paying for 2 day shipping and getting snail mail from just about the furthest point away from CA (Vermont to California).

Well its been this long because I am not on Corvette Forum much. Your thread did not get emailed to me under search criteria and I am not sure why but I was responding to another thread and saw yours. Anyways I looked up your order and it is exactly as you say, it was a order of the internet and you selected one shipping and it went another. Have you called anyone about this, it would have been really easy to fix and they would have refunded you the difference. I can make that happen today but not sure why you didn't call.

Well I kinda of see part of what happened. I do not know why the shipping method was changed but they didn't change the cost because it was paypal order. I would imagine that someone here was trying to save you money in shipping but this is something that should always be asked, especially for that little of difference. At that point time is more valuable then the difference in cost. Paypal is like writing a check though and the shipper does not see that, but when they process the order, you can't rewrite the number on a check and paypal operates the same way. So I have sent in a service sheet to refund you the entire shipping amount, it will either be on your account or they will mail you a check for it.

I just didn't feel like calling and talking to anyone. It was one of those times where I just got fed up with shipping. Businesses complain about Amazon putting them out of business, but amazon gets the importance of quick shipping. I ordered a set of wheel lock removal sockets around the same time from Amcor. They took 2 weeks just to ship it out there door. I guess I was just feeling grouchy. Maybe amazon has spoiled us with ordering one day and it showing up the next.
At least this order went out next business day and was a perfect fit. It was annoying having my console lid open slightly and drain my battery. That issue is gone.

I get it, my wife uses Amazon all the time and I do some. The difference in what I buy from them vs specialty shops is that I can call and ask question to them, Amazon no so much.
