I am looking for feedback on a purchase experience here.
I have been a forum member for five years and appreciate the advice, fellowship and integrity of members here. I have also had great experience as both buyer and seller of corvette items among members. I just recently had a disappointing purchase experience with a long time member that I would have thought to be honorable. The transaction was for some High Flow Cats the member was offering for sale. The pipes looked nice in the photo and in the course of several private messages I inquired if the “inside catalyst was loose or rattled?” The response from the seller was that they were solid. I paid for purchase and shipping. Upon receipt of the package (the packing box showed no shipping damage or mishandling of any kind) I found both of these pipes had loose catalyst honeycombs and one of the honeycombs was pushed an additional couple inches into the pipe. While the pipes look good their functionality will likely be short lived and either clog the pipes or send honeycomb shrapnel into the exhaust system. I feel the seller misrepresented these High Flow Cats. The seller’s only response has been, “What has changed from the actual delivery to the pictures I posted online?”…….I again provided complete description of the catalyst honeycomb problem. The problem is not the cosmetics of the pipes it is the misrepresentation of the functionality of the pipes!
Fellow and forum member what are your thoughts? Update 6/6/2022
The member that misrepresented these ‘high flow cats’ is JimsCorvettes. I waited until now to give him the opportunity to respond. I see has checked onto the forum and has deleted all his postings on this item. I would advise avoiding JimsCorvettes.

If you paid with PayPal, file a dispute and get your money back. PayPal sides with the buyer a huge majority of the time and has saved me from scammers in the past. Also, don't feel ashamed to call out the seller in this thread. Sometimes public shaming and humiliation can get people to rethink their shady business practices.
Post a negative review on Transactions/Feedback forum.
IF a seller isn't willing to stand behind a sale, for invalid reason(s)?
Let members know why -- including interactions.
Aside from that, isn't much can be done once a seller has the money.
Use 'em 'til they give up the ghost.
Sucks bigly, not something a forum member w/could expect from another.
Post in the transaction feedback section and call the seller out by name. I would not hesitate to do so if an item was misrepresented and it sounds like this one was.
Give the seller a date and time you will call them out specifically, maybe you get resolution before then as a result - every online transaction should be done with some type of insurance in the background paypal whatever.. D.T.A. is a good online policy to live by
Was it those hi flo kooks cats posted for sale not too long ago? Price wasn't even good only $100 some dollars less from buying new. Go with flowmaster cats I paid around $90 each no issues 200 cell and they do the job
PayPal will work for you UNLESS you did friends and family. That meant you were not buying a product so they can't help you with the product you actually did buy and labeled as F & F to save on the fee. That is the chance you take using F & F. If you didn't do that, then by all means contact Paypal.
It’s a shame you’re having issues. As far as PayPal don’t expect much help from them. As a rule they’re pretty useless in helping the purchaser. People can talk a big story but don’t believe them.

I've never had PayPal not come through for me, even when I had sellers submit false information to try to scam me. I wouldn't trust any other method.

Absolutely! Just go to the Resolution Center and open a case. They'll take from there and keep you posted. Having been on both sides of PayPal transactions, it's clear that PayPal's Purchase Protection works

The one time I had a problem Paypal reimbursed me.

Please report problematic transactions in the Transaction Feedback section. This thread has been moved there. Please do not repeat this issue in other sections of the site.
