Shipping Overcharge
Just attempted to order some items from Corvette Central, and the order was for two shirts and a cap. When they totaled the order with tax and shipping, they wanted to charge me $49.00 for shipping these two shirts and one cap in the United States. I have early Christmas spirit, but that kind of overcharge killed it immediately. I have heard from others about their overcharges for shipping and just experienced it. I cancelled the order and will not purchase from someone that is trying to take advantage of me.

I just ordered 1 hat and 2 shirts from CC and the shipping was only 8.85, but I'm only 90 miles away. Seems like the correct amount. It doesn't seem like their computer system calculated yours correctly. I'd call them out on it.

It does sound like there was a mistake in their shipping calculator. I recently ordered a radiator and a water pump from them. The shipping on the radiator was only $24.99, the water pump was $16.60. Both shipped UPS and spent three days in transit, which seemed reasonable to me. Cheap actually in the case of the radiator. My only (mild) complaint is that their shipping department is a bit slow, requiring three days from my order dates to actually getting the products out the door in both cases.

Today I mailed an empty toy game box to a collector. The box was very light, in another box, which admittedly was oversized: 33x 20. Still, empty box, light package. IL to VA.

The girl at the PO was embarrassed… suggested UPS but said they are no better. Shipping prices are flat out-insane right now.
