They're a horrible vendor. Might just be changing the name to get rid of their bad rep. No way I would buy anything from them unless they have many years of positive feedback under "new management"

For sure. Once you have a bad rep, it is harder, at least for me, to trust you as opposed to a guy that opened his doors this year. What I don't understand is why would anyone do that? I mean, you have a bad rep. Why even bother to keep the name? If you screwed it up bad, I might be willing to buy your office and space and inventory. NFW would I even want to own that name.
A couple months ago I called Top Flight with a question about a product they sell. The gentleman did not know the answer, but said he would email the vendor and call me back. Still waiting........................

Time will tell whether the new management will make a difference and result in a customer focused business. They have a lot of negative reviews and experiences to overcome and like others here, they will have to prove themselves over time.
how would being a sponsor change your opinion, exactly? :P
They would have changed their reputation and service responses to an acceptable condition and we wouldn't have a crapload of complaints on them as a sponsor. When you are removed from this forum as a sponsor, you have not treated your customers correctly. If someone wants to use them for business, go for it but I wouldn't recommend them or use them. There was a Viper guy that lost the confidence of many of his customers by taking money for projects and not delivering on his contracts and I would not recommend or use that guy even now and I've never owned a Viper.
I would only consider trying out Top Flight if the details of how the ownership has moved was outlined to us. This is likely just the same bad actors behind a new name. Corvette Mods was so bad, that now I'll be sure to never do business with Top Flight either.

are you meaning to say that sponsors are to be considered hand-vetted by IB staff as honest, reputable companies that do not sell snake oil?

I'm saying you can be a sponsor if you pay and don't have a bad rep. If you are bad to your customers and there are a lot of complaints on your service/business, you will be dropped from the forum.
I have no clue how a sponsor is vetted. I don't care. I respond to the gripes from the forum members.
If you'd like to know how the sponsors are vetted, I'd recommend you contact the IB staff or an Admin.
It looks like Corvette Mods was bought by a group called Extra Mile Brands. As you can see from the Top Flight Automotive website, they have bought up several companies such as Corvette America and Mustangs Unlimited and combined them under one name. This is what private equity groups do. They buy with the hopes of making them more profitable and then selling them. They typically have little automotive knowledge.

Still does not tell me why they are buying it AND keeping the bad name.
