Imho, Doug is a stand up guy for responding... yeah I questioned things until you explained. While unfortunately stuff like this happens all too often, not completely his fault. Hell about 2 months ago, luckily a rookie, smashed my window at the gym and tried to start the car (assuming since radio and stuff was on) at 3a. The car was in sight of the gym front counter, but of course they didn't see anything. Couple things prob saved me from them getting it, I was too far from the car, and bestbtheft deterrent ever....m7
Not that stand up he left my car outside so it could be stolen while he polished his boat.. There is just no arguing that...
But my car was stolen at night.. not during the day. It was stolen (along with 2 others) when it was suppose to be inside protected. When bad guys are out at night.
So much for your inside info! (Wrong!) What other inside info you got to break this case open.
Jeez, a stolen car for Christ sake, a professional hit at that, not the end of the world. Happens every day, thousands of times a day and your making it sound like your the only one this happens to. Get your check and move on.
It's not that my man.. It's the fact it was stolen because of pure ignorance and negligence. If they broke in and stole it ok.. You know the shop did what they needed to do and tried to protect it.
But they LEFT IT OUTSIDE. All night unsecure.... You might as well put a neon sign out there says free corvettes.. One of the most stolen cars in America right now and they put it outside. I trusted them to do the right thing.,.. I trusted them to try and protect my property.. and they put my car outside. You guys have no argument.
I do understand your frustration sir, he didn't have to respond on here at all but he did and explained things. Does it make him right or not responsible....no,
So much for your inside info! (Wrong!) What other inside info you got to break this case open.
What are you talking about?? Doesn't matter if it's wrong.. It still doesn't change the fact the owner left my personal property that I trusted him to protect outside to polish a boat.

Oh stop it already, just stop it. It could get stolen while you walk in a store to buy the newspaper. It could happen that fast.

And let me tell you ECS lied about this. They didn't tell me Doug's boat was inside and he was there. They didn't offer to pay for anything or compensate me in anyway to make it right for the poor judgement call.
I'm just floored... You know I thought these guys are great and I loved Chris. Especially Alex he's the best ever. I thought these guys would go above and beyond for me. They were super heros to me in my corvette. They made my car into something I dreamed of owning since I was a kid and to do me like that..... wow...
When did we not offer to pay? I guaranty you your insurance company will contact ours, that's what we pay $66,000 dollars a year for. We have literally already paid for it in full, we already gave them all of our recites on the car so you are reimbursed, let them work it out. You are upset and I certainly get that, but we did not "do you like that", we were robbed, and again I'm very sorry for that.

It would not have been left outside all night, I pulled the cars in when I left, yours would have been also like it has been every single night it was here. I have said all I can say, I can only apologies so many times. I was not careless with your car, I was robbed, in seconds.

so the OPs modified corvette is getting fully covered even the mods?
I could wreck his car on track and it would be covered, ask the guys at Tune time what they pay for insurance, I bet it's less than a third of that.
I bet you're right.
I'm just curious as to if the OPs modified vette got stolen and he is being reimbursed all the way through the modifications done to his car why would he be upset? Was there sentimental value there?
I see he's already discussing building a C6 but this just happened? No way it was joyridden and could be recovered? Heck you could buy it back at a discount.
I sure hope so Mr. Doug, You made a bad judgement call that night I understand, I've made plenty myself. What makes me mad is how you handled it. You should have contacted me directly, told me you messed up and put your boat inside and apologized for it. Yes, I would have been mad but I would have forgave you because that's the bigger thing to do. You should have been upfront and provided immediately your businesses insurance information and contact info and told your insurance company you goofed. None of this happened. This is what a "stand up guy" would have done. I'm sorry Mr. Doug I trusted you so much. I'm sorry Mr. Doug I thought the world of you and you'd go above and beyond for me as a customer.
I hope in the future you'll take this into consideration the next time you decide to make a judgement call.
I've said my peace and I'm not going to respond anymore.

Unless you know it's never coming back.
I'm skeptical.
I don't understand who you are skeptical of? These guys weren't joy riders, they were pro's, I happen to agree with him, I doubt it will ever be seen again, which sucks frankly.

I feel you have clarified this enough for my concerns. I would bring a car to your shop if I lived in that area. Maybe it's time for a 12 foot high razor wire fence with guard dogs and a tower with an armed guard. Just sayin.
