Default NavTool are CROOKS!! Be advised.

I have a NavTool 6 CarPlay module in my C7. Subsequently I placed a pre-order for a similar module for a different car, paying $500 in Feb 2024, the module was supposed to be available by June 2024. The same guy that sometimes answers the ph told me the delay was due to a chip they were waiting on. They took my money and the order was placed.

I would periodically follow up with NavTool to check on the status of this pre-order, and was told that the chip should be coming soon, multiple times. I was told the same thing again in December 2024. In fact, the same guy told me that they don’t know when they would ever be getting this chip. I asked if I could go ahead and cancel the order and they said they would cancel and send me a refund check in the mail.

Needless to say, said refund check was never sent, despite being told on several occasions that they will send it “again “. It is now April 2025, and I have not received the module nor have I received the refund. They do not return emails, text messages, phone calls, or attempts to schedule video support.

is obvious that they are intentionally avoiding me, and refusing to issue my refund although they have my $500. I strongly advise that if you are considering doing business with this company, take your business elsewhere if you don’t want to risk getting ripped off like they have ripped me off. Well, I hope this message saved somebody quite a bit of money and aggravation.

If you put it on your credit card I’d still try and dispute it regardless how long it’s been. That really sucks I hate vendors that are such crooks!

That sucks, and to bad not on your card. I'd let them know you've told the C7 community on this site, never know if it brings a better closure for you, good luck trying.

Have you talked to your debit card people and asked what you can do? I usually prefer to use Amex myself since they are very pro-customer.

Read the thread on the NavTool "introduction" here for the C7. Same BS tactics.

But to be fair, buying real products from him is ok. Just don't be sucked in by his I'm developing a new product con job.

Maybe so but why risk it? That's like saying you skimmed from the till at McDonald's and got fired. Why would I hire you at Burger King to be a cashier?

Is your debit card a Visa card? If so you might have recourse, contact your bank and inquire about disputing the charge. Certainly worth the phone call at least.

I believe debit card is stricter on the time of claim? I can't understand why I even use debit cards unless I want to buy lottery tickets, which is never or get cash when I go to the strip club.

Avoid using debit cards for online purchases. The money is drawn directly from your account. If you are scammed, or the account is compromised, you are out YOUR money until when/if the bank investigation is complete, and you complete an affidavit of fraud. At least with a CC, the money is the CC company's money and not yours (until the bill is paid).
