Quadrajet rebuild
Anyone in need of a rebuild of a carburetor, I sent two carburetor’s to Bruce from Carburetor’s Unlimited. Located in Peoria, AZ. He’s been in business over 40 years. Quadrajets are his favorite to work on, but rebuilds everything. He performs the work himself and it is very high quality.
One of the two carburetors I sent was previously worked on (by another rebuilder) with poor outcome (fuel seeping down carb body, fuel collecting around accelerator pump, secondaries not fully opening, and hesitation) . Bruce tore it down, blueprinted, and sent back. That same quadrajet on the same motor runs like a beast!
Installed the other one he restored on my other car and performs exactly the same way. Like a wild animal.

Noted his services includes recurving distributors. Perhaps he also has a distributor machine/tester ?

Bruce does recurve distributors as well and has the equipment.
He’s an outstanding person to do business with. Compared to a recent previous carburetor rebuilding experience, expectations were far exceeded.

First issue sound like some tore the gasket can happen if you dont remove the plunger lever for primaries.
Secondaries not opening I bet they didnt install the linkage back on. Also the secondies can be adjusted to come on sooner if need be.
I miss those carb step on the gas and see the gas gauge move
