Slime?
I just cleaned up a set of used Rikens, got new Sumi's from Tire Rack and had them installed by a local tire joint. Now after 3 weeks or so one of them is flat and 2 of the others have lost 10# of air. I haven't driven the car since the install as I am still putting some new parts on the engine.
Could the rims be oozing air through the pores?
When I get it fired up this week should I put "Slime" in the tires, air them up and drive them around for a few miles?
My bicycles have this stuff in the tires to seal any small punctures. I'm thinking this might also work on the car tires too.
Advice appreciated!

Hey, I dunno about slime per se, but some tire sealants can, and DO screw up your sensors. I have had good results with the Parts Master brand, but it isn't as effective as maybe slime and others are. It can repair a leak temporarily until you get to a tire repair joint, but I can't say for sure about porous castings. It did hold air all winter here (6 months!) so well that I forgot it was in there. Good luck.

I used something called Ride-On when I had my 96, its similar to Slime and is safe for the sensors. Only problem is, it settles if you don't drive it everyday, and you'll end up with a shimmy for a while until it re-distributes. I put it in my wife's 02 Jag when she got it, no problems so far.
