Besides the pricey stuff like CCw, Bogart etc, I need a light draq wheel and tire that I can run on my C4 with the C5 brakes. I had Pro Stars with the Grand Sport brakes etc and they barely fit, so I was curious what will fit the C5 brakes. Thanks

Steve, it's hard to fine that combo. My 15"x3.5" just fit with stock '96 brakes.
My cars going to Neverlift in July for a solid rear and I'm having smaller brakes installed all around. and I don't want to use spacers with the new Alumastar wheels.

I beleave CCW are the only wheels now that will fit your combo.

Even though the 15" X 3.5" Pro Stars just fit with stock 96 OEM brakes don't you still need to run longer wheel studs and a wheel spacer of about 3/8" or 5/16" to get the needed clearance?

I have the longer wheel studs. I didnt realize a 15 inch wheel is able to go over the factory 96 brakes. The C5 brakes are smaller, but I think the calipers are bigger overall, so the wheel needs to be at least a 16 inch? There are 16 inch wheels, maybe I need to go this route.
I like the Alumastars, they look great.

Weld Racing, Can you , or do you have plans , to make this wheel in a 4-6 inch width in 16 or 17 " sizes? There are allot of cars racing that could use these wheels in this size. Personnally I need the Prostar XP in a 17 or a 16 " in a 5-6 inch width. Can yuo guys make this for drag racing etc? The fronts 17x4 will have a 2.25” backspace and the 17x9.5 will have a 6” backspace

Sorry for this question here, but I don't know what you mean when you say backspace. What is that exactly? Is it a measurement from the face of the rim to the face of the hub? What is normal for a C5 rim? Thanks for your patience and assistance.

Basically think of it this way. Lets say you have a 12 inch wide tire. Zero offset would mean there is 6 inches both ways and the part of the wheel that actually pushes up against your brake caliper would be 6 inches from the out side of the wheel either way. If you trhow a positive offset say 8 inches, the wheel will go into the car more by 2 inches, if it were a offset of 4 inches it would stick out of the fenderwell.
Hows that. Basically the offset is based off the center of the wheel, take the width divide by 2 and start the offset, negative or psoitive.

Thanks Steve. I got it now. So all the little ricer's that I see with their wheels outside the body would have like a negative 10" offset.

they will need more than 2.25" backspacing to clear the face of the calipers and not stick out past the fender line. my 15 x 4's clear the rear rotors and calipers that we installed on the front by less than 1/4" and are flush with the outside of the fender lip. the front calipers are much thicker....and then who makes a tire that will fit properly on a 17 x 4? they make tires for the 17 x 2.25" pizza cutters, but I wouldn't want them on the front of a vette.

There are plenty of 205 sized ZR rated tires that will fit the 17X4 wheels. That should be a good fit.
I figure with the 2.25 inch backspacing you will need spacers, which I am willing to work with. H&R made my rear spacers, and they are very nice pieces, perfect fit.
If I get permssion from the significant other, I may purchase the set of wheels. They are lighter than what I am useing, A Mold AFS 17x9.5's front and rear when I am at the track, with ET streets in rear.
ANd they XP Pro Stars look good IMHO.

17 x 4's with 2.25" bs and 205's will stick out past the fender line. then you add a spacer to it to make it clear the calipers and it will be way out there. my 165-15's are flush with the fenderlip with NO spacer. 205's are wider.

What part of the caliper, the face with name Corvette on it? Well shoot, I guess I will just stay with the factory wheels. I am not going to spend the $$$ for a CCW type wheel for virtually no real gain.
