Default Will these work?

I am getting new 2000 thin spoke crome wheels, 17X9.5 and 18X10.5. I want to stay as close as I can with my new tires to the stock diameters.

275/40/17 Front and 315/35/18 Rears. Anybody see any problems? Would love some pics of rears 315. Will there be any problem with the tires going outside of the fenders? Would I need any offset difference to keep them inside?

Thanks, Mark

Hi Mark, I can try to help somewhat.
1. As far as the math is concerned, the fronts and rears, the ones you are going to install, are both within .02" diameter of the stock C-5 sizes. So you have no AH, TC, or ABS issues.

2. I have a 275 on my C-6 front using a C-5 rear wheel. The greater offset of the C-5 rear compensates for the increased section, 245 stock
increased to 275, that the tires do not stick out at all. They look perfectly stock.

That is as far as I can go with my limited knowledge. You are going to need to know the offset of your new wheels and compare to the stock C-5 offset and then you can have some idea. There are others on the Forum who can help in that area. My guess is that your new wheels should probably have 10-15 mm more positive offset which will put your new wheels closer to the center of the car and thus compensate for the increased section. Try Luke at TireRack, he is very helpful but you will need your offset for him to make a calculation.

The diameters are perfect.

Thanks Bob, this helps. I thought I was ok on the sizes, I will need to do more research on the ofset numbers of the wheels.

I am a little worried about the tires going outside of the fenders to far, as I do not like that.
Thanks, Mark

Anyone have pics of 305/35/18 or 315/35/18 from the rear? Would like to see how they look in relation to the fenders. Thanks, Mark

I had Nitto extreme RII's at 305/18 on the back and they stuck out on a stock sized z06 wheel but they looked hot. They stuck out just a little, but that little was perfect.
