Default Offset question

Well i found some wheels i want, and the only thing keeping me from pulling the trigger is the offset not being the same as stock wheels.

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/18-17...4380QQtcZphoto

Rear 18 x 10.5 / 54mm
Front 17 x 9.5 / 56mm

Now i know stock c5 wheels are

Rear 18x9.5 65mm
Front 17X8.5 54mm

My question is, will this look silly? After doing the calcutions on a website for offsets, it should(the wheel) stick about about 1inch more then stock in the rear setup.. Which i dont see being an issue, since the stock wheels are a smidge sucken in anyway.

But lookin to hear from some people with offsets that are not stock before i click that order button.

Thanks in advance,

Vincent

Careful when comparing offset... Offset is a calculation based on the distance of the wheel hub (what mates the hub on the car) to the centerline of the wheel.

If a wheel is 1" wider, then the centerpoint shifts 1/2".

A 9-1/2" wide wheel has a different proper offset than a 10-1/2" wheel. Also remember 10mm is about 1/2 inch, so the change in offset makes sense.

Stock Z06 wheels (I believe) are:

Rear 18 x 10.5 / 58mm (vs your 54mm option)
Front 17 x 9.5 / 54mm (vs your 56mm option)

The more positive offset, the further inboard the tire will be. Yours look fairly close.

I hope this helps...

Chuck

Yeah, 5mm is like just 1/4".

Do it! It'll look good... the rears will stick out 4 mm more and the fronts will be 2mm in... nothing to worry about.
