What is the best size rim for road racing/handling ?
I've heard mixed review's on this subject, is there any difference?
17" front 18" rear, 18" all arround, 17" all arround. I would like to put my 18x9.5 up front and purchase repo oo chrome in 18x10.5 for the rear but I'm afraid of throwing the balance off.

Lots of folks go with 17" all around because there's a wider selection of tires available (Hoosier for instance).
If you've making any power, a wider rear helps balance quite a bit, especially accelerating out of the corners. The popular setup is the GranSport sizes: 17x9.5 with 275's up front, 17x11 with 315's in back.

Tripp: :D I'm with gcrouse, there just aren't many wider tires to choose from for 18" wheels. The 295's are good, but IMHO they just won't cut it with that monster you're getting built. 17x11" or 17x11.5, with 315's are available and will work better.
