Default Chrome Flaws Acceptable?

A few years ago I bought a set of Foose Nitro legends for my '73
spent $2000 with shipping etc. (South Africa).

They look Awesome!!!

But under some inspection I found a whole bunch of flaws . The packaging was undamaged - aerothane cover s still in-tact. I took some pictures but shooting chrome is now easy
Flaws:
little dings on the spokes

Grind marks.

Ripples on the spokes - look like the machining marks wern't polished out.

clamp marks on the lip.

Cracking Chrome &thin chrome (yellow tinge).

I sent these photos and they (MHT Luxury Alloys) said they couldn't see anything wrong .

Any Comments?

Am I being too fussy - "luxury" Alloys and FOOSE I was expecting some quality - we get better quality on cheap locally made rims!($250/set with tyres).
I tried to get hold of Foose designs to tell them about the poor quality attached to their name but they just refered me to MHT .
I'm probable just going to put them on. I thought I'd just warn people.

Unfortuneately just because a product has a high profile name attached, does not insure quality.

Back in 2005 I had a set of Foose wheels on my wife's car and they were perfect. So back then they had some quality products.

I bought them in 2008 (It's take a little loner to get the vette close to needing them)

They're made in CHINA - like everything else these days.

I guess the question becomes this...Did you buy them in 2008, and just notice the flaws recently? If so, I can see why MHT might be a little reluctant to take any action now, since there's always the suspicion on their part, that the damage occurred while the wheels were in your possession.

Secondly, are those wheels still offered by Foose as current stock? If not, it would be another reason that MHT would be less than anxious to take them back, as they would no longer be able to possibly get Foose wheels to take them back.

I'm not trying to be negative here, but trying to present a realistic assessment of your situation.....

I noticed the flaws in 2008 and sent them the pictures then and was told that they could not see what was wrong!! I was told to ship them back to them and then they would check the wheels for themselves and decide from there. the whole tone of the conversation was negative and I got the impression that they could never be wrong and I'd be waisting my money shipping them back to the states (which would have cost 50% or more of the cost to bring the wheels in. I also only got replies to my questions when I phoned MHT directly - emails could be ignored.

They do still supply those wheels.

I only posted this this late as I took the wheels to the pannel shop that is working on my vette to see if they can paint them.

I wanted to see if others thought I was being too fussy about the quality.

I gave up on MHT years ago, they just didn't seem to care about the quality of their products. Maybe if I was in the US they'd have behaved differently ?

Possibly, as you would have had more leverage aganst MHT, since return shipping would have been easier and cheaper, as well as the ability to "protest" the charges on your CC.
