Default 17" Wheels F&R vs. 17" F & 18" R on a C5

I have two sets of Weld Racing 17" Tuner wheels with correct C5 offset, currently running 315/35/17's Drag Radials Rear and 275/40/17's front for strip efforts on one set. I am interested in selling stock 17" & 18" factory 2002 wheels/tires and putting the money I get into premium rubber for the second set of wheels to be driven on a daily basis. I like the looks of and weight savings of the Forged Aluminum Tuner much better than the factory wheels. What are the disadvantages with downsing to a 17" rear for daily street driving (5K miles annually), and if there is anyone else running 17" wheels on all four corners of a C5 what are your comments/experiences vs. the stock setup.....
