I'm in the market for a new rim and tyre package for my vette. This will be my daily. Ill be picking up 4 speedline rims from one of the vendors here is speedline still is a supplier. 1200 shipped i believe. Anyone have experience running this setup? My car currently has a 45 tire up front and a 35 in the rear (previous owner mistake) and i have no AH issues.

I like this setup due to size and cost. The 30 diameter for lower weigh and rubbing issues. the 315 r888 i have found for only 275$ a tire where as a 295 pilot supersport or comparative tires are 325+ for a smaller tire. Nt05 is another aption at 245 a tire but again are only in the 295 size.

On the tires, you're kind of comparing apples to oranges. The 888s are fantastic competition tires but they will wear pretty quickly on the street. They aren't unsafe, and are actually quite good in the rain, but you will be replacing them pretty quickly compared to the Nittos, so the value question involves a lot more than just the initial purchase price. If you aren't autocrossing or running track events, the 888s probably aren't the tire you are looking for.
