Trans Am Race Series Names Pirelli as Official Tire and Series Sponsor
Trans Am cars will now be shod with Pirelli racing rubber, as they have stepped forth to fill a void.

As a fan, I'm unsure whether this is a good or bad thing as they used Hoosiers last year & prior. I'm hoping Pirelli can infuse some money so the TA1 body shells can get beyond C6 & early 5th Gen Mustangs. THAT would be most appreciated.
On race weekends, Trans-Am's top class looks like a joke compared to its own secondary class TA2 with modern Challenger, Camaro & Mustang bodies let alone competing sports car series IMSA & PWC. I know it's an all-privateer series, but having race car bodies from 2010 is an embarrassment.
