So I am a little confused on these date codes on my tires. There are Michelin Pilot Sport AS Plus tires. There is no number (3,4 etc in the model name). I am enclosing pictures of the DOT codes on the tires. There are only 8 characters in the DOT codes on the tires and none look like what I would expect to be the date codes. I've been all over these tires looking for another DOT codes but so far, I have not found anything. Maybe someone her will have a clue on what is going on. I bought the car back in September but have been busy moving and really haven't driven the car that much and now I finally have some time to make sure everything is up to date.
Seriously? Why would they put such an important label on only one side of the tire? There is obviously something on this side of the tire that makes them mount it this side out (direction of rotation arrows?). Talk about stupid.
You guys were correct. Still think that is crazy that they only put the date code on one side of the tire. Glad I started investigating the tires, they are 8 years old and they are run flats. Now to find new tires.
