Goodyear GS-D3's better than Pilot Sports!!!!
As some of you may know, I have expressed disappointment with the MPS's that I have had for the last several thousand miles. After trying different air pressures and balancing 3 times I finally gave up. The higher air pressure smoothed out the ride under 75MPH pretty well but any faster and the car would shake apart. I then noticed the right front tire was cupped a little. I called Michelin and they said to take to dealer for any warranty work. The dealer in Nashville said that he had a vette just before me with the same problem and that Michelin would not warranty cupping. Even though the tread wear is even and about half gone, the dealer considered cupping "sol". I just got my Goodyears on today and they ride as well as any touring tire I have ever had! Thank you Goodyear and I'll never wander again! Also, thanks to TireRack (I saved $235).

I'm shopping for tires for my new ZR1 repli-wheels and it was down to Goodyear Eagle F1 GS-D3s and Michelin Pilot Sports. It's now going to be good ole 'Merican rubber.
I've had GYs on the 84 since new and am glad I can keep it that way without giving anything up.

I replaced my 'run flops' with MPS ZP's. WOW what a difference. I can actually hear the radio and talk to the person in the car without having to come to a stop.
I ran 142 mph on TMS last month like the car was on a rail.
Sorry you had a bad experience, but from where I sit these are the best rubber available for my application. :nopity

Just installed a set of GY GS-D3s last Saturday (actually Gateway installed them), and so far, all I can say is they are great. (From pricing local Goodyear dealers in the Franklin area, I saved almost $300.00 by purchasing through Tire Rack...must be less expensive to get tires in the 'Boro.) So far I have noticed, they track better, handle better, less of a bump (but not as much as I expected). Hate to say it, but I'm hoping for a good storm to see how they are in rain. (Know anyone looking for two front run flats?)
Trying to get a few people to caravan up to the NCM on Saturday, Aug. 30 or Sunday, Aug. 31, for the ninth anniversary. Interested?
Need some pics of your tires :lolg:

Hi Doug! I can't do anything that weekend as I am working Sat. (overtime) and will be at the Superspeedway for Sunday SCCA autocross. I just joined and met some mighty fine people there a last weekend. If you have ever thought about finding the limits of the vette, you should come on out. Personally, I am looking for a good autocross vette since I don't want to mess up the '96 just yet. Maybe next time on the museum get together.
