Default Numbers Question

Could someone do a quick explaination of the numbers?

Front: 265/40 17
Rear: 295/35 18

Which are important?

I am looking at some Pilots A/S for the some winter driving in my Z, however I cannot locate my exact sizes.

Thanks Guys!

265/40/17 means that the width of the tire is 265mm and the sidewall height is 40 percent of the width and it is mounted on a 17 inch tire. Go to tirerack.com to find out specifics like total radius etc. in figuring out what tire will match the ones you are looking.

The only number that must be exact is the wheel diameter (17" and 18" in your case)... the section width and height can be slightly different and it won't hurt anything.
