The tube just lays onto the splash pan
If you don't have the tube then yours is missing

The tube is attached to the end plastic tube and just lays onto the splash pan

Pretty sure 71 was the last year for that extension hose. 72 won’t have one…. for sure not used anymore on 73 and later cars
