I'm not familiar with the twin-disc clutches available for C5s. Is the engagement abrupt?
I am familiar with twin-disc setups on a different marque and there were complaints that the clutches can be hard to modulate to produce a smooth start from rest.
Im sure some are, but the mcleod rst I have is not abrupt or difficult to modulate at all. Have daily driven it with that clutch and stock engine, and now with heads/cam +4.10 gears. Chatter from the twin disk is the only complaint, some have it some dont.
My Monster 3 disc is pretty easy to drive on the street. It takes a couple hundred miles for the clutch to wear in, and those first few miles the engaugement is pretty rough.
Now - it just acts like a clutch.
Having driven cars with the early McLeod twin discs and Tilton 3-disc road racing clutches... those occupy more the realm of light switch connecting a bomb to your wheels.
I ran a C6\ZO6 clutch for 8 years on a head\cam 383, and was completely happy with it.
I just got\received a Monster Twin-Disk... installing this week. I will post back about how it goes... suppose to be long lasting and shift very near factory.
I had a monster twin in my Camaro and absolutely loved it. Zero chatter, very little effort, and it grabbed like nobody's business! I am thinking to do the same on my Z06, or adding a Mcleod RST

big time same with my friend but I did get over 2ok on it.. just dealt with it. Both of these clutches above is a hit or miss. Heard shatter like crazy and then theres guys got lucky and ran like stock. I got fuked.
and it's not just on the corvettes.
WAY back when we installed an aluminum RST in a client's than brand-new 2002 Z06 HPDE car. The car was almost undrivable on the street the engagement was so aggressive

The RXT/RST are no longer that way, not at all. I have an RXT on my ‘02, with lightweight flywheel, installed about 8 years ago, and it’s very easy to drive. This is on a fully built heads/cam setup with a somewhat aggressive cam, CamMotion Titan 4. It’s not grabby at all, even the more aggressive RXT, and there’s only occasional plate rattle in neutral. It’s been a fantastic clutch.
