SQ1
Stroll did not complete the lap due to a driving error; no lap time recorded.
SQ2
Audi and Hulk are making good progress
SQ3
Albon was demoted from 14th place because the FIA realized too late that, in Q1, his lap time had been set while exceeding track limits—a decision that, in my opinion, rightly infuriated Lindblad! Albon now P19.
Nono secured P1 with just one lap in Q3, a bold strategic decision that speaks to the technical team’s composure. He clinched P1 despite a minor error at Turn 16; otherwise, his time would have been even better. Finally, despite all of Féfé’s upgrades, as long as the power unit isn’t on par with Stuttgart’s, Féfé will be trailing behind—barring any in-race incidents—IMO.

Finishing fourth, Anto saw his result changed following the stewards’ intervention. He was under investigation for exceeding track limits—an issue that had already been a concern for him during the race.
After review, the FIA ruled: an additional infraction was upheld against the championship leader, automatically triggering a penalty of 5 seconds. He finished 6th ahead of Ham but retains the lead in the WDC.

Interesting that Aston out Q'd Cadillac.
It'll also be interesting to see if the rain shows up tomorrow, and which teams went with a more rain-oriented setup.
Thanks BK, as always, for posting the results.
Us cheap bastards who still won't subscribe to Apple TV appreciate that!

Be careful les gars, the race will start at 19 pm Paris hour, so i think 17 pm US east coast !
Hadj will likely be disqualified for violating the rules; his floor was 2 millimeters too high.
Ben Sulayem is certain that the FIA will reintroduce the V8 engine, either as early as 2030 with the manufacturers’ consent or unilaterally in 2031—he won’t need a vote.
That would be great! I’m sick of these races where I can’t understand the performance variations from one day to the next, or even from one lap to the next.

Dry track.
Start: Max spins 360 degrees, Leclerc takes the lead, and Colapinto damages Ham’s SF26 by ripping off half of its left side. Hadj hits the wall and is out; Lawson sends Gasly spinning—nicely done—but Lawson had a gearbox issue and couldn’t avoid the collision. Safety car out, and only Max pits for C3.
A fiery finish between Anto and Nono, Piastri and Leclerc, and Leclerc lost everything in a 360-degree spin; having damaged his SF26, he lost a lot of positions.
The pole-sitter had never won here before, but now he has, thanks to Anto. With three poles and three wins so far this season, Russy has reason to worry about his very young teammate.
The only driver to have won the first 3 races of the season in a row while starting from P1. 3 Mercedes drivers on the podium.
Leclerc is under investigation for cutting the chicanes following his 360-degree spin.

Oui, the end was terrible and now 5 drivers under investigation : Leclerc, Russy, Stappen, Lawson.
If as the broadcasters stated it looked clear that Verstappen cut the Pit Exit line, how did the Stewards not award him an in-race penalty FFS?🤦🏻♂️ Why would you ‘look at this after the race’?
Great race though; Antonelli is the real deal at 19 yo!! George needs to just copy Bono’s notes as to how they’re setting up Kimi’s car and go from there.

TheBish, thanks for pointing out what we all forgot, including the commentators: behind this young guy who reminds me of Valentino Rossi is Bono and his vast experience. He’s shaping a future World Champion. Russy is going to be in for a rough ride.
Max received a 5-second penalty, but it had no impact on the standings. At the time of the pit lane exit incident, the FIA didn’t have any video footage available; they had to wait until the end of the race, which is regrettable—very regrettable—because an immediate penalty would have prevented him from finishing in that position. On the other hand, Le Tank Leclerc took a real hit: a 20-second penalty that sent him down to 8th place; he really played with fire, so the winners are Ham and Cola.
I note that Williams is making progress and Cadillac finished the race, while Audi is struggling: Hulk retired due to technical issues, and Borto made a strong comeback but fell just short of the points.
Anto won, but the real loser is McL; they were simply undercut by Merco. Anto Bono Merco's preemptive strategy worked perfectly against Nono.
A totally effing ridiculous penalty! The left steering linkage was damaged when LeClerc tapped the wall; you can see from the on-board video that the left wheel isn’t turning at all; just the right front!
Charles should have been applauded for actually bringing the car home!
Sergio Perez fans would have liked Lundgaards courageous and ballzy pass into and around the outside of a corner with another corner coming right after and made it stick. Nobody saw it coming, it was exciting.
