Taking a Dive

We've seen our fair share of crashes and other harrowing incidents involving Corvettes over the years, which - in all fairness - pertains to pretty much every other vehicle on the planet. However, the fact that the Corvette is a sports car that many don't exactly drive in a calm and relaxed manner nabs it more headlines when things do go wrong, and that was precisely the case with this poor example of the iconic sports car after it tumbled down an embankment in Anderson Township, Ohio recently, according to Local 12 news.

Shocking Scene

The Anderson Township Fire Department responded to this particular crash that took place off Bridle Road near Johnson Hills Park at around 2:30, and had to have been rather shocked to see the kind of scene they rolled up on, as the Corvette was resting several hundred feet away from the road in a creek.

Rescue Effort

Amazingly, the driver was seemingly fine, but was trapped in the sports car as it suffered heavy damage during its decent down the embankment. As such, the fire department had to remove part of the car - which appears to be the roof, from the photos provided - to extract them from the vehicle.

No Update?

Though the news didn't provide an update on the driver's condition following this scary looking crash, things obviously could have gone much worse, given how bad the aftermath looks. The driver was lifted out using a basket and rope, however, a necessity given how steep the embankment was, as we can see in the photos.

Springing Into Action

It's unclear what, exactly, led to this particular crash, but we have to imagine that it had something to do with road conditions, speeding, erratic driving, or one of the many other typical causes behind such incidents. Regardless, the driver can be thankful that not only did the car protect them in a pretty scary-looking crash, but also for the brave firefighters that sprung into action to save them.
