Believe it or not, this gorgeous C1 Corvette started as a pile of parts that most would have just written off at the onset.

As much as it looks like this Corvette was crafted for cops, RPO 687 actually made the C1 more track-capable. This was the precursor to RPO Z06 that would be offered in the C2 the following model year. Still, this triple-black car looks ready to chase bad guys rather than a first-place finish.

This 1962 silver Corvette roadster was first restored in 2011, but we can’t imagine it looking any less striking now than the day it rolled out of the old St. Louis manufacturing facility some 53 years ago.

The 1962 Corvette had many features in common with previous models. And it had a few that made it unique.
