Default ..C5 Gas Mileage on Road Course Track..

Curious what people get for gas mileage on a road racing track ?

Obviously it's going to vary....but roughly would it be like 5 or 15 MPG..
...considering the car easily gets 25-28 MPG on freeway.

My C4 gets roughly 7 MPG at Road America. In one day I use a full tank plus roughly another half a tank. I leave at lunch to fill it up. 220 miles per day at roughly 30 gallons. I did not pay super close attention so only roughly.

I do not drive as hard as others do so I have done better than 10mpg. MPG will vary greatly from driver to driver and track to track.

Funny you should say that. In July at VIR on day one with 3 25 min sessions I went through 10 gallons of gas. I topped the tank off in the morning on the 2nd day before going out for my first run. In 3 25 minute sessions on the second day at the end of the 3rd session I was on reserve. 10 gal one day and 17.5 the next. I guess its a good thing I missed the long 35 minutes session that was run for our group.

As Jeff said, VIR was thirsty that second day.

If you get MORE THEN 6 mpg, your not going hard enough.

Think my best laps at VIR a year or so ago was under 3.5 mpg or a gallon / lap

a good thing about this wonderful fuel millage, you wont get any carbon build up and or need that soylent green chit that some vendors hawk like snake oil to clean out the carbon build up

Well, the thread did ask for C5 mileage, sorry, I have a C6Z. The 427 spinning 5K to 7K RPM does suck more!

If you get less than 6mpg you are going to get to see what the C5 engine compartment looks like when it is empty....

I know this from personal experience...

i definitely get less than 6 every time i'm on track. that could be due to the 100 octane tune though.
