Ignorant newbie question?

I have a set of those numbers and they are good except you have to be **** about keeping your hands clean when you remove them because if they get grease or dirt or anything behind them they won't stick in that place.
I can only guarantee them to Miata speeds though, which is somewhat less velocity than the higher Vette speeds

get a metal-bodied car???
Solotime makes great vinyl stick-on's that stay on real good. Going on my third year with my set. Make sure to keep the backing paper though, so you can keep the numbers clean and flat for the next time out.

I bought a set of vinyl numbers for $ 24 from a local sign shop. The shop owner said they were made for glass surfaces and not reusable.
I found if you use a mildly soapy water sponge to wet down the surface, then squeegee out the air bubbles and excess liquid out of them they look great. Gently wipe them down with a clean rag to remove any excess water and soap.
I like to do it a day or two before the race to make sure they are dry.
