Who Has The Best Price For Wilwood SL6 17" Set Up
Well, since we are now allowed to upgrade in T1 I am in the market to buy this set up. I dont have $6,500.00 to buy another 3 sets of 18' CCW's so this is my route.
I see they list for around $1,699 give or take (PT#140-831) Any vendors doing a group buy or special pricing?
I need to work on the car, this sitting around not racing crap aint cutting it.

I am wondering if we just ran 18s on the front with the Stoptechs.......only need 1.5 sets of new CCWs that way!!! Doesn't say you have to run the 18s all the way aroiund!!
Don't forget, there is more than one 'SL6R' caliper.......I think the big one with a 1/4 spacer will clear the CCWs. Depends on what the TCS says when published if they pin it to the 'slim' caliper.

I was confused on the 18x10" thing I read on that too. Don't they mean 18x10.5" so we could run OEM rear wheels on all 4 corners?
Do you guys run 315's on the 17x10 front CCW's too?
Maybe we can get a group buy on the sl6. It seems like many are thinking this way due to cost. However, some say the sl6 is not much of an upgrade except for caliper longevity. maybe that's why scca did not give it the 50lb penalty that all other aftermarket calipers get when run with an 18" front wheel?

T1 C5s use 17x10 front and 17x11 rears. Some folks run 315's square and others use 295 fronts.......its just a preference thing.
C6s have the option to use the 18s or downsize to the 17s (the Z51 brakes weren't legal so both ran with the smaller C55 Z06 size brakes) and most owners already had the 17s on the trailer.
Will have to check the TCS when published this month but am sure it will be 18x10...........

Got mine years ago from LGM for less than 1200 inflation that was with the thermo-lock pistons too. Try LOM may be you can get a group buy going for T-1.

We met with Wilwood at the PRI show and are working on a "T1" kit.
We are taking into account the new rotor sizes for both the C5 and the C6. We are also working on a Thermal Lock piston package already installed in the SL6.
We were given the impression from our meetings that this package is the top priority with Wilwood Engineering and Sales and we should see numbers by weeks end. Production time for the attachement brackets, rotors, and all need components are being time sourced...
A group buy is being formulated...

SCCA hasn't listed which SL6R caliper will be sourced yet (by part number) that I know of. I believe 'particulars' will be out this month in the FASTRACK (if they get specific....I hope they leave this open like they did the four piston units if switching to 18s).
There is more than one SL6R caliper. I believe both have fitment issues with the standard CCW classic wheel most are using (requires spacers) but my choice would still be the wider (beefier) unit.......
Make sure these 'kits' take fitment into consideration...........THANKS!!

For the record, I'm running the SL6R (full width, thermolocks) caliper with the LGM G-Stop brackets and NAPA rotors. Works great. Huge savings on brake pads. You'll need more than 2.5" from the rotor face to wheel spokes to clear them, though. CCW Corsairs in 18x10 on my C6 clear with plenty of room... my 18x11s cleared with miles of space, obviously.

I had the LG G Stops on my 03Z. Great brake kit but the CCW Classic T1 wheels would not fit over the brakes. To clear the caliper I would have had to run a minimum 5/16 spacer. John at CCW recommended a 5/8 spacer. I didn't want to run such a large spacer so sold the wheels.

FYI, you can bolt the front stock calipers to the rear with little modification and parking brake assy removed I heard someone say.

You can run 4 piston calipers all the way around when switching to 18s and 50lbs.
The Wilwood SL6R front allowance doesn't give us a new rear caliper 'option'.
I had heard about the front to back swap too but don't think its allowed either.
The two piece rotor (front and rear) allowance forces the ebrake removal. I wonder if you are running the stock rears if you have to keep the ebrake?
More questions than answers it seems. Wonder why the SCCA rulebook can't be more definitive?
