Gt1
I've been watching GT1 World on Fox Sports here and I'm wondering, why only 2 Corvette teams? I remember just last year there was easily more than that and definately double that in 08. Plus wheres Luc Alphand Racing? Been pretty sad this year to miss out on ALMS and have to watch the C6.R's in GT1 World get beaten by damn Astons and Nissan GTRs not to mention Maseratis just because of the FIAs stupid azz equality rules....

no money, ALMS dried up, FIA dried up........only place flourishing is Grand Am, and I think the grassroots formula really helps the teams (although I prefer the higher tech FIA specs better).
Hope things improve..........

Running a GT1 team SUCCESSFULLY took millions of dollars per year. Only Corvette had the money, all other teams were low budget.
the C5R and C6R new where in the $900K and $1 million to buy each. then ~ $5 million to maintain and race each year per car. More money then most P1 teams had.
FIA racing is to technical and too corrupt. Open racing with few rules did not suit the low budget European teams.
Lower budget, spec cars as in the Porsche GT2 and F430s became more of the norm as to what small teams could purchase and run.
Still close to a Million a year, plus car and equipment purchases. Does not include running the LeMans 24 hour, which several teams have hinting that one race budget was close to a million dollars.

There will be a 2011 series, most likely a 2012 series aswell. Interesting thing tho is that the current GT1 C6.R will not be allowed to race after 2011 so may we see a ZR1 based GT1 C6.R in the future?
