Default Vintage air installed

Hi looking for some pictures of VA air already installed in your C2 corvette
I love the way it works and cools my coupe nicely - but looks not so nice in the engine bay.so Im looking for some pictures and Ideas that I can utilize in trying to make it a bit more aesthetic when I raise the hood

thanx as always

You will love it, here are some links to pictures on my site of my 63. It looks a lot more factory that I thought it would. The gen IV is a lot more compact and I did not have to move my stock battery locations. Feel free to PM me if you have questions. Oh, and do not buy retail or direct, many dealers will discount and they have to be ordered and ship from VA anyhow.

This is a picture still in progress but it will give you an idea.

Not near my pics file right now... but if you did the install yourself... you can really streamline the look.
You can neatly tie-wrap some of the wiring and tuck and move the hoses so they are parallel and neat looking.

Won't have to move your expansion tank or battery.

The compressor is relatively small... and the bracketing holding it in place can be painted or powder coated.

Bottom line... no matter how it looks... that A/C will be blowing cold and will outdue anything GM ever put in these cars...by a mile!

You will only ever make it so pretty...keep the wiring and hose routing clean and secured - you can get away with a heavy duty fan clutch and larger fan and avoid those nasty looking electric pusher fans -- other than that -- it is what it is...

Lectric Limited makes a slick wire setup to move the alternator to the DS .. part number VAK-6365...your horn relay and regulator stay in the stock position (last picture). I also hid the circuit breaker under the PS side hood latch and the heater control valve down below that...

If you're dealing with a '63 then getting that left hand interior underdash nozzle as far outboard as possible takes a little creativity. The Vintage Air setup has that nozzle too far towards the middle - looks funny...

Look - the "900 pound Gorilla" in the engine bay with aftermarket A/C is the compressor. That is just gonna look like it looks. Smaller than stock but brightly plated, up high and somewhat in-your-face. Its the price you pay for comfort. I don't think there is much you can do about that.

Thanks but rich5962 gets most the credit - I nearly needed a 'crash cart' when he sent me this picture - but he did a marvelous job !
He may get my '61 next to spruce up when he gets a break. 35,000 miles of driving since purchased has things looking a little tired !

Vintage Air is the bomb - these are typical nozzle temps on an 82* Orlando day -- colder than my 2013 Tundra !

Engine of my 65 FI with Vintage Air. System works great, so nice to have AC that really works when it's hot in the summer with an amazing defroster in the winter!

Very clean install - not sure I've ever seen it done on a stock F/I car before

Texas,
That is very nice

I have never seen the compressor mounted like that.
Is your mount custom made or is it from Vintage Air?

It can be done, not easy given the way the FI system idles when the compressor kicks on, but with some modifications you can make it work.
AC was a must have when I considered a coupe in TX in the summer.

Hardest part was getting things to fit while keeping the original FI air cleaner assembly. Took a lot of effort, and had to use a mini alternator and custom brackets to get it in the right position and looking correct. Love having the AC though! Worth the effort.

Yes, I see the extra effort the install took - but you nailed it for sure

Was able to keep the original style clutch fan with no mods to the fan shroud. Did need a high volume polished aluminum water pump with some thin spacers to get the pulleys lined up and belts just right.
