Default C3 as a drift car?

Have any of you encountered a C3 drift car? I've seen one in a video in a drifting competition in Europe, but cannot find it.

Any one have stories, pictures, videos to share?

Hi,
What's a 'drift car'?
Is it car that's drifted down the driveway into a tree?
Regards,
Alan

I don't think that the C3's imprecise steering would lend itself well to drifting.

Honestly, after the ghetto-look, 20" wheel, trailer park conversion, ricer, sticker graphic, custom Mickey Mouse cr@p I see on this Forum, I make the mistake of thinking our hobby can't sink any lower.

But...

not a C3 but a vette

I don't know why people in here have to be so negative when someone asks a question. If he asked about khana racing or drag racing people wouldn't have a problem with him. What someone does with their car has no bearing on me and this "hobby" hell if I was to say what was wrong with this hobby it would be the garage queens that never get driven. I'd rather see someone get out and use the car however they use it instead of treating it like a statue in a museum.

I will have to admit, I am not a good enough driver to drift. I suspect 90% here on the board are not either. However I would like to learn. I wish I could find a place like UK's "Top Gear" has to learn how to drive better. I would try it. Al

If you have never been in a car that is sideways at high speeds, but is totally under control of a great driver, you simply don't understand drifting and the culture that has grown around it. The skill involved in being a good drifter is extremely difficult to learn. Say what you will about all the things people do to vettes, but don't be an idiot and not realize that drifting is a strong test of skill in how well a driver can control his car.

all one need see to understand a little better is the following video. I know it's not a vette and its covered in stickers(sponsors), but watch and try and tell me that is not incredible.

It wouldn't be my 1st choice but being a powerful rear wheel drive car then yes it could be. I know that a C3 can drift threw corners and does so quite nicely. Its not something for the average joe to try but it is an awesome feeling like 80vette said but drifting has been around for alot longer than most people think, just in a little different form of racing. I do have a little experience in drifting in that type of racing...

Default Drifter

The only drift car I ever seen needed new trailing arm bushings.

As much as I hold my nose every time I see drifting on TV, I have to disagree with you. I've owned my BB C3 for a long time, and I've had to learn how to use the throttle to get that thing around a corner at times. With the bigblock's throttle response and power, it's a piece of cake to get it to do whatever I want it to. The steering has never been a restriction to doing this.

Oh, and I agree with a previous poster. I grew up around dirt tracks. I prefer to watch "drifting" (done at a lot faster speed) on dirt tracks.

So, I would need to wind my engine up tighter than a two-dollar clock, burn the rubber off my tires, and 'slip' around a curvy track. Gee...sounds like....a waste of a nice 'classic' car.

But, if that 'trips your trigger', by all means, have at it.
