I agree with the others here o the forum, years of using this have proven it to be the "right" gloss, it is dead-on in my book. However, I will also say that it is not the best paint in terms of durability. Perhaps I should buy a can of the rustoleum and compare...
I used to restore Mustangs and the whole engine bay is black. I was having trouble getting the right look using 1613 on that big of a area, and it sure scratched easily too.

The Rustoleum dries slow so it can be sprayed on a large area without getting over spray on the parts already painted. If you can live with the slow dry then I think you will find it superior by far to the 1613. I believe it thins with acetone to spray it from a gun.

On my '72 driver I've used Rustoleum semi-gloss black and used a brush. It flows very good.

I used John Deere Blitz Black this summer, very happy with the results.

Great stuff, reasonable price for a can with lots of paint, correct finish (satin black), and very durable. You can get it at any John Deere store.
