I've done a search and all I can really find is Krylon 1613. But I can't find it anywhere in stores and I've read it's been discontinued. What is everyone using now?
I used several products in various areas but found the John Deere Blitz black to be a pretty good semi-flat paint.
Most any JD dealer or service center carries it, a little spendy since it has JD on the side but did a nice job.
Old formula Krylon (5-Ball) is now considered an industrial coating. You can still purchase the old formula from industrial coating outlets. You can also get it off eBay.

Buy Krylon 1613 from MSC industrial supply.
They have a discount for CF members. Mention it to whomever answers your call.
Very nearly 1/2 price. I buy it in the 6 can case.
World's fastest shipping, I promise you. I've ordered twice and received it THE NEXT DAY!

I used to use Krylon until years ago a Chevelle guy turned me on to Rustoleum 7777. It gives the same gloss as the other but is much more durable. It comes in spray cans as well as quarts and is available at Walmart and Lowes. It does take a long time to dry but when it gets hard it is durable.
I use it on engine bays as well as engine pulleys and brackets. I like the fact that I can spray it from a gun on large areas if needed.
I agree with the others here o the forum, years of using this have proven it to be the "right" gloss, it is dead-on in my book. However, I will also say that it is not the best paint in terms of durability. Perhaps I should buy a can of the rustoleum and compare...

Ijust ordered a case. Thank you very much[/QUOTE]
Looks like the price is $7.29 whats up with that?????
Hi H4CA,
I had some unused cans of #1613 that were about 8 years old and seemed to work fine.
On partially used cans it seems more about luck whether the nozzle or the siphon tube gets clogged with paint.
You certainly would be good for 5 years unused.
Regards,
Alan
