'80 c3????

I'm admittedly biased, as I own a 1980... BUT... my personal opinion the 1980-1982 models were in many ways better than the rest of the C3s. Of course the power on the 1968-1974 models was better (due to less emission control junk), but the 1975-1979 models were in my opinion the low point as far as power went... and the 1980 model not only lost a lot of weight, it gained some significant aerodynamics (and in my opinion better looking) compared to the 1979 model. Don't get me wrong... the 1975-1979 Vettes are still great cars... But I personally prefer the 1980-1982 models...

I hope when you look at vette you do so without blinders on,
I once read in a car rag that when going to look at a car you are thinking of buying take a car savvy buddy with you but one who doesn't care about the car you are looking at,
I had a buddy do that with me, had me look at a Mustang he wanted he was all dreamy and starry eyed about the car, I showed him the extent of rust he said he otherwise wouldn't have paid attention to,
At first he thought he missed a great car, later on he calls it dodging a bullet...

congrats! glad this arguing didn't scare you off, there's too much of that on this forum unfortunately, but the wealth of info here makes it worth putting up with.
btw, I brought my first vette home dec. 26th in a blizzard. drove the C4 from indiana to Michigan scared as sh---t! but it was worth it. I think I washed it every day for a month in the garage waiting for nice enough weather to drive it (tough to do in MI winters).
anyway, good luck with it and please post pics and details!

Suggest a new thread for the new car, but will you put a note on this thread so it emails those of us following along so we can see the new toy! I understand what yer sayin', but not sure how to go about getting it done!Plus we can see all the goodies you add on over time.
