Default 1968 gills

As I understand it the side "gills" were partially blacked out in 68...my question is, was this also done on black cars?

Hi D,
From the NCRS 68-69 TIM&JG:
It's just the last (nearest the cowl) louver on each side that received semi-gloss black paint 'blackout'.
On cars with exterior black paint it appears to be body color.
Regards,
Alan

For 68 and 69, the last gill on each side is not functional and are closed off. They got blacked out to give the appearance of them being open.

I don't know if black cars received the same treatment.

Thanks guys. Sometimes I have a tough time finding things in the TIM&JG, looked for 10 minutes before posting, found it within 30 seconds after Alan's reply

On black cars, the 'dummy' gill was just painted regular body color.
