Advice on 1971 coupe

Congratulations!!
Well, I bought it. I pick it up Monday. Car is very visceral compared to my C7. Original color was Elkhart green. I like the black, but I am a fan of green. Car is from Ohio and I'm a Buckeye, so it seems fitting. The undercarriage looks good. I could find no rust where Alan suggested that I look. Owner is a real car guy and seems real honest. Everything works, car goes down the road real straight. I will be changing out the tires. They look like new for tires from the 90s. I will get radial BF Goodrich redline tires, if I can find them. Any suggestions? I will be detailing it Monday afternoon, right after I get it home.
Congratulations!! Great find!

Hi SRQ,
Wow!
That was pretty quick!
I hope you really enjoy it for what it has to offer AND that it gives you lots of pleasure!
The redlines will look terrific on it.
Good Luck!
Regards,
Alan
I'm glad the question about the paint got straightened out easily!

If your looking for redline tires just google it and there are suppliers for the tires. Coker is probably the biggest. About 250 a tire plus mounting. They really look good on a black car with the rally wheels. That Elkhart green is a nice color, there was one that was just at a car show I was at and was a big hit.

Congratulations on the beautiful vette and welcome aboard. Summit sells red lines as well. They're not all that hard to find actually. Wish I shopped around before I ordered my radial t/a s but I'm happy with them.
Definitely get them installed before you drive the car. The manufacturer recommendations say replace tires at ten years and you mentioned the 90's. Be careful.

Two more
Car is pretty much original except for tuxedo black paint. BF Goodrich Redlines come on Friday. Then I need to do something about the radio. I need tunes when I drive.

***Edit*** I see you already knew it was a 72, I was just confused by the title of your thread.

No, it is a 1971. I guess I confused you. The seller told me it had been Elkhart green. It had been green. I'll check the paint code.

Enjoy your new C3!

Edit: I'm a slow typer on my iPad, I see a previous poster mentioned the color issue already.

Life is Good with Corvette!!!
(IMHO, I would keep it 6 months or a year with the black before repainting to OEM green, bet you end up deciding to keep the black, ha! Looks great!!!)
