100% CORRECT. These 2 pieces are very important.

Ok, think I understand now. I will fashion what I think you are describing and post a pic before I use it.

I have the original GM specified Kent-Moore tools.

The two small horse shoe shaped pieces measure as follows:

1/8" thick steel stock
4" long
25/32" wide

wrapped around a 1-11/16" OD socket to form a horse shoe shape.

They were originally tied to the center bar via small chains to prevent loss and aid in use.

YES...PERFECT!!!!!!!

The TRICK is making sure you get the bushing to start straight ...so it will go in the the inner area without cocking. That is the FUN part for me.

Did you powder coat those? I'm thinking of powder coating my control arms and am concerned with the thickness of the powder causing a problem with pressing the bushing sleeve in. I've been thinking about the best way to mask that off, but perhaps I won't have to.

Here is all I used, and it worked well... Tke an 1 1/4 threaded pipe coupling and it fits around the bushing perfectly, also buy a end cap, and tap them in with a hammer, pound them home evenly
